Description

Fluffy, buttery biscuits made effortlessly with Bisquick, sour cream, and lemon-lime soda, baked in melted butter for a golden, rich finish that’s perfect for any meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter
  • 4½ cups Bisquick or similar baking mix
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (7-Up or Sprite works well)
  • 1 cup sour cream (do not use light or reduced-fat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and melt in the oven. Remove pan once butter is fully melted but keep oven preheated.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Bisquick, lemon-lime soda, and sour cream. Stir gently until sticky dough forms.
  3. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. If too sticky, add Bisquick one tablespoon at a time until manageable.
  4. Pat or roll dough into a 1-inch thick circle.
  5. Cut biscuits with a 2–3 inch round cutter or glass. Press remaining dough together to cut more biscuits.
  6. Place biscuits into the melted butter in the baking dish, nesting them close together.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until tops are golden brown and crisp.
  8. Let biscuits rest in the pan for 2–3 minutes to soak up melted butter before serving.

Notes

  • Use full-fat sour cream for best texture and flavor.
  • If dough is too sticky, add Bisquick gradually to avoid tough biscuits.
  • Serve warm for maximum buttery flavor and softness.
  • Try adding herbs or cheese for a savory twist.
