Ingredients

  1. For the Cake:
    • All-purpose flour
    • Salt
    • Granulated sugar
    • Baking powder
    • Milk
    • Large eggs
    • Vanilla extract
    • Unsalted butter, melted

    For the Cinnamon Swirl:

    • Unsalted butter, softened
    • Brown sugar, packed
    • All-purpose flour
    • Ground cinnamon

    For the Glaze:

    1. Powdered sugar
    2. Milk
    3. Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Make the Cake Batter:
    • In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
    • Add the milk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
    • Slowly incorporate the melted butter.
    • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  3. Create the Cinnamon Swirl:
    • In a medium bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until smooth.
    • Drop dollops of the cinnamon mixture over the cake batter.
    • Swirl the mixture through the batter using a knife for a marbled effect.
  4. Bake: Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Make the Glaze: While the cake bakes, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
  6. Add the Glaze: Once the cake is out of the oven, drizzle the glaze evenly over the warm cake.
  7. Serve: Let the cake cool slightly before serving to allow the flavors to settle.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent treat, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Add chopped nuts or raisins to the cinnamon swirl for added texture and flavor.
  • The glaze can be adjusted for consistency by adding more powdered sugar for a thicker glaze or more milk for a thinner drizzle.
