Ingredients
Scale
- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta shells according to package instructions, then drain and cool.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat and mix in marinara sauce. Remove from heat.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Fill each pasta shell with the ricotta mixture and place them in a baking dish.
- Top the filled shells with the beef mixture and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef for a leaner option.
- Add extra marinara sauce over the shells before baking for a more saucy dish.
- You can also sprinkle some extra Parmesan cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for a crispy finish.
