Ingredients
Scale
12 jumbo pasta shells
1 lb ground beef
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup marinara sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1 egg
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta shells according to package instructions, then drain and cool.
In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat and mix in marinara sauce. Remove from heat.
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Fill each pasta shell with the ricotta mixture and place them in a baking dish.
Top the filled shells with the beef mixture and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef for a leaner option.
Add extra marinara sauce over the shells before baking for a more saucy dish.
You can also sprinkle some extra Parmesan cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for a crispy finish.
