These Beef-Stuffed Shells with Creamy Ricotta Filling are a comforting and hearty dish! Filled with a savory blend of beef, ricotta, and topped with melted mozzarella and Parmesan, they’re perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 12 jumbo pasta shells
  2. 1 lb ground beef
  3. 1 cup ricotta cheese
  4. 1 cup marinara sauce
  5. 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  6. 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  7. 1 egg
  8. 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  9. Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta shells according to package instructions, then drain and cool.
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat and mix in marinara sauce. Remove from heat.
  • In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Fill each pasta shell with the ricotta mixture and place them in a baking dish.
  • Top the filled shells with the beef mixture and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef for a leaner option.
  • Add extra marinara sauce over the shells before baking for a more saucy dish.
  • You can also sprinkle some extra Parmesan cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for a crispy finish.
