Description

A creamy, spicy, and flavorful pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp coated in a mouthwatering Bang Bang sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special meal to impress! This dish brings together the perfect balance of heat and creaminess with every bite

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

  2. Salt and pepper to taste

  3. 1 tbsp olive oil

  4. 8 oz spaghetti or linguine

  5. 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  6. 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce

  7. 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)

  8. 2 cloves garlic, minced

  9. 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

  10. Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.

  • Cook the Shrimp:

    • While the pasta is cooking, season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.

  • Make the Bang Bang Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Adjust the amount of sriracha based on your desired level of heat.

  • Prepare the Pasta:

    • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic-infused oil. If needed, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to help the pasta come together.

  • Combine the Shrimp and Sauce:

    • Add the shrimp back into the skillet with the pasta. Pour the Bang Bang sauce over the pasta and shrimp, tossing everything together until evenly coated.

  • Garnish and Serve:

    • Transfer the pasta to serving plates. Garnish with chopped green onions and fresh parsley or cilantro. Serve immediately and enjoy your spicy, creamy Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta!

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spiciness.

  • For extra creaminess, you can add a tablespoon of sour cream to the sauce.

  • If you prefer a different pasta, penne or fettuccine also work well with this recipe.
