Ingredients
-
1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
8 oz spaghetti or linguine
-
1/4 cup mayonnaise
-
1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
-
1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
-
Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Cook the Pasta:
-
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
-
-
Cook the Shrimp:
-
While the pasta is cooking, season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
-
-
Make the Bang Bang Sauce:
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Adjust the amount of sriracha based on your desired level of heat.
-
-
Prepare the Pasta:
-
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic-infused oil. If needed, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to help the pasta come together.
-
-
Combine the Shrimp and Sauce:
-
Add the shrimp back into the skillet with the pasta. Pour the Bang Bang sauce over the pasta and shrimp, tossing everything together until evenly coated.
-
-
Garnish and Serve:
-
Transfer the pasta to serving plates. Garnish with chopped green onions and fresh parsley or cilantro. Serve immediately and enjoy your spicy, creamy Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta!
-
Notes
-
Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spiciness.
-
For extra creaminess, you can add a tablespoon of sour cream to the sauce.
-
If you prefer a different pasta, penne or fettuccine also work well with this recipe.
