Description

These baked broccoli cheese balls are a crispy, cheesy, and healthy snack or side dish made with broccoli, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, and flavorful seasonings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Scoop the mixture by the tablespoonful and roll into compact balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the balls are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour.
  • Feel free to add extra seasonings like onion powder or cayenne pepper for a flavor boost.
  • If you prefer a crunchier texture, you can broil the balls for the last 2 minutes of baking.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven for best results.
