Description

Baked Beans & Ground Beef Casserole is a hearty and flavorful dish that combines savory ground beef, tender vegetables, and sweet and tangy baked beans. Perfect for a cozy dinner, this casserole is baked to perfection for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish with butter.
  2. In a deep skillet, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until softened. Drain excess grease.
  3. Note: You can substitute half of the bell pepper for jalapeno or poblano for added heat.
  4. Add ketchup and stir to combine. Then, add mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine. Taste for seasoning and adjust with salt and black pepper as needed.
  5. Add baked beans along with the juice. Stir carefully to combine.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth evenly. Cover and seal the dish with foil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the seasoning based on personal taste. Add more mustard or Worcestershire sauce for extra tang.
  • Substituting some of the bell pepper with jalapeno or poblano can introduce a spicy kick to the dish.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top of the casserole before baking.
