Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- ½ head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with olive oil. -
Cook the Beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease. -
Sauté the Aromatics:
Add the onion and garlic to the beef, cooking for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and red pepper flakes. -
Add the Cabbage & Tomatoes:
Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Let simmer for 5 minutes until the cabbage softens slightly. -
Assemble the Bake:
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with cheddar or mozzarella cheese, then Parmesan. -
Bake:
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. -

- For a lighter version, you can use ground turkey instead of beef.
