Ingredients

Scale
  1. 8 oz medium pasta shells
  2. 1 lb diced lean beef
  3. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  5. 1 cup heavy cream
  6. 1 cup beef broth
  7. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  8. 1 tbsp olive oil
  9. 1 tsp paprika
  10. Salt and pepper to taste
  11. Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook pasta shells: Cook pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • Sauté onion and garlic: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté onion and garlic until softened.

  • Cook beef: Add diced beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Cook until browned and fully cooked.

  • Season: Season the beef with paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir in beef broth and heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a simmer.

  • Simmer the sauce: Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes, allowing it to thicken.

  • Combine pasta: Add the cooked pasta shells and stir until fully coated in the creamy sauce.

  • Add cheese and garnish: Remove the skillet from heat and mix in shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add grated Parmesan cheese along with the cheddar.
  • Add some red pepper flakes for a bit of heat, if desired.
  • This dish can also be made with ground beef or ground turkey for a leaner option.
