Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ¼ cup chicken broth or white wine
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 ½ tablespoons black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ cup white wine (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2.5 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together lemon juice, chicken broth or white wine, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, black pepper, thyme, white wine (if using), olive oil, and lemon pepper seasoning to make the marinade.
- Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or zip-top bag and pour the marinade over them. Refrigerate and marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours).
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy edges, lightly spray the chicken with cooking spray before air frying.
- Try using chicken thighs instead for a juicier option – reduce cooking time slightly if boneless.
- Homemade lemon pepper seasoning can be made by combining dried lemon zest, cracked pepper, and salt.
