Description
These crispy and flavorful Air Fried Pearl Onions, also known as mini blooming onions, are a perfect bite-sized snack or side dish. With a simple and flavorful seasoning blend, they’re air fried to perfection for a crispy, golden outside and a tender inside.
Ingredients

1/2 bag frozen pearl onions

1 cup flour

2 teaspoons paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 egg

Oil in a spray bottle
Instructions

Microwave the pearl onions for half the package time (about 2 minutes).

Beat the egg in a medium bowl.

In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder.

Drain the onions and pat them dry.

Coat 6 onions in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg, and coat them in flour again.

Refrigerate the coated onions for 10 minutes.

Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 3 minutes.

Arrange the onions in a single layer in the air fryer, spray with oil.

Air fry for 3 minutes, shake the basket, spray with oil again, and fry for an additional 3 minutes until crispy and golden.
Notes

If you’re cooking more than 6 onions, you may need to air fry in batches.

The onions should be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can adjust the frying time based on the size of the onions and your air fryer.

You can use a dipping sauce of your choice, such as ranch or a spicy aioli.
